Educating generations in Uganda.

The Need
The main hindrance to accessing quality education in Uganda is poverty. Poverty hasn’t only pushed Ugandan parents to the edge and depend on their children to help with daily chores but most parents are also poor and can barely afford to keep their children in school.
Although Uganda has Universal Primary and Secondary Education, not every child is privileged to be in school. Most students lack the very basic school supplies like exercise books, pens, uniforms, textbooks, and school bags. While education may be free or somehow subsidized, the government won’t cater to the basic supplies and other development fees. This results in high drop-out rates, early marriages, low academic performance and teen pregnancies, which have escalated poverty levels.
Therefore, GEP USA, in collaboration with GEP Uganda and other Ugandan organizations, supports underprivileged children in Uganda to access quality education. We support their educational needs by paying their tuition fees, providing them with school supplies, school lunch, After school program, University scholarships and offering the mentoring program. We are targeting those who are hungry for change. Children who can do whatever it takes to succeed in school and life.
